Henna for the Bride
Henna is very popular for bridal use in many different cultures. If you are interested in having Bridal henna done, there are many things to consider. Please contact Joey for bridal henna inquiries! Bridal henna can take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours or more depending on the intricacy and size of the designs requested. Some things you may want to consider when booking your bridal mehndi are; How much coverage do you want? What style of henna do you like? Would you like any important symbols or motifs included in your design? Would you like to have both hands done, up to elbows? Both sides of the arms? Would you also like both feet done? etc.
You will want to get your bridal henna done 2-3 days before your wedding to ensure optimal stain results. You will also want to keep your henna paste on your skin for at least 8 hours best results. A sugar/water sealant will be used to keep the paste on your skin longer. PRICING: Bridal henna done by JoHenna Design is based on the amount of coverage you are looking to achieve. Henna for Guests
Typically, the bride will have her mehndi party surrounded by family and friends. Other guests at this party will also get henna, but will need to be discussed beforehand. It is suggested to discuss the time you want me to spend on your guests henna tattoos. Keep in mind that the henna your guests get at your party will last long after the food, beverages, and other party entertainment fades. A standard henna tattoo for your guests is 2-5 minutes (approx.10-15 tattoos per hour).

Maternity Henna Tattoos
Maternity Henna tattoos are a great way to welcome the new addition to your family. This would also make a great gift for a friend or family member who is expecting. If you are an expecting mother and would like to get henna, please let us know a few days before your henna appointment. A special essential oil blend will be used for expecting moms, ensuring the gentlest and safest henna for your little one. Pregnancy henna can be done at any time, though it's most common between 32-37 weeks. If you're planning a photo shoot, your henna appointment should be scheduled 2-3 days prior to the session to ensure optimal stain results. If you would like to have the henna paste on during the photoshoot, it's recommended to schedule your henna artist at the photoshoot location to ensure the paste stays intact. Maternity Henna Tattoos typically take 1-1.5 hours to complete and begin at $75.
Bridal Shower Henna Tattoos
Henna is a fun and exciting way to celebrate the arrival of your little one and can be scheduled for the duration of your baby shower. All ages are welcome, but the younger ones sometimes have difficulty when it comes to leaving the tattoo alone for the necessary time. Your baby shower is also a great time to get your maternity henna tattoo.

Henna Crowns
JoHenna Design offers henna crowns on a donation basis for those who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy. If you or a loved one has lost their hair due to chemotherapy and you wish to have a henna crown session, please contact JoHenna Design from the About & Contact page.
Most Henna crowns previously done by JoHenna Design have not been documented per client wishes. If you wish to donate to the henna crown cause, please contact JoHenna Design. PRICING: Henna crowns typically take about an hour to do, and begin at $75. A travel fee will be added to appointment fee.
