Meet Joey
Joey discovered her love for henna at just six years old. From the moment she first encountered the art form, she was captivated by its beauty, history, and cultural significance. Over the years, she eagerly sought out henna whenever she could, and her passion deepened when a close friend gifted her a set of cones for her birthday, sparking her journey as a henna artist.
Thirteen years later, Joey now offers both henna and jagua body art professionally, and has also spent the past few years practicing permanent tattooing full-time. Her love for body art continues to grow as she connects with people through these transformative and expressive mediums.
For Joey, it’s about more than just creating beautiful designs — it’s about human connection. She takes time to learn about each client and aims to make every session meaningful, whether it’s for a wedding, religious celebration, milestone, or simply for fun. Each piece she creates tells a story — a reflection of who her clients are or where they’re headed. Whether temporary or permanent, the art serves as a symbol, a reminder, or an inspiration for the journey ahead.
